Sometimes there is a fire that runs through the blood of a man, and the nearest explanation we humans have for it is 'adventure'...But it runs much deeper than simple words. It drives some to the very limits of possibility, at work, at home, and especially at play. I am addicted to adventure, whether on the diving platform, in a deep slot canyon, on a snow-capped peak, in a physics laboratory, or in my kitchen at home with my wife. Adventure is who I am. Once again in human figure,
Full in sight ran on before him,
Sped away in gust and whirlwind,
On the shores of Gitche Gumee,
Westward by the Big-Sea-Water,
Came unto the rocky headlands,
To the Pictured Rocks of sandstone,
Looking over lake and landscape.
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
